I’ve recently witnessed one of my leftist Chilena acquaintances on social media have a meltdown about Apruebo losing, followed by her gloating sociopathically about how the “colonialist” Queen Elizabeth will be “rotting in hell” for the “genocidal war crimes” she had supposedly committed during her reign. The thing is, she lives in Australia, a prosperous free-market former Commonwealth nation where the Queen was always well-liked, if she was not they wouldn’t still be sending teams of athletes to the Commonwealth Games every year it is held. No doubt she was desperate for the new constitution to pass so she could boast to her liberal Aussie friends about the “glorious revolution” in her homeland, which she would be comfortably shielded from the consequences of on the other side of the world.
