Hm, I see your argument but I think, even if you take out the additional, new voters, there was a genuine swing to the right for various factors:
- TV stopped reporting social justice issues and instead relentlessly focused on minor crimes to brainwash the population to falsely believe that crime in Chile was particularly bad and had increased more than it had
- Anticommunist vote just now
- Left overplayed its hand by writing a very left constitution, instead of a slightly left one that would have passed
- Incumbent governments have been punished for inflation/cost of living - global trend is for whoever is in power to lose, it’s been going on for a couple of years now including Bolivia, Argentina, Brazil, US, UK and others…if you were in power for the period when the cost of living rose (in and around 2022), you got kicked out in 2024/2025
