From the BBC, who only propagandize through omission
Javier lives in Chile. It is alleged that Telecanal, a privately-owned TV channel in the country, has handed over its signal to Russian state-backed news broadcaster RT, formerly Russia Today.
Having briefly channel-surfed through it, it seems as dire as the rest of Chilean cable TV.
This was in the UK for a while and I watched it. It was a biased propaganda channel designed to serve the purposes of its authoritarian government, and I am surprised that they allowed it until March 2022 when, under a right wing government, it was banned.
The way it used to work was more selective bias than outright lies. For example, they would ignore major scandals in Russia while focusing on minor scandals in the UK and US. It was mainly a subtle anti-US and anti-UK channel where they were trying to promote their misleading viewpoint “look there are scandals and corruption in every country, so who are you to criticise us”.
Looked at the 2 major media networks in the US for news and info on the latest shooter in Minneapolis. Then I looked at RT. Only RT mentioned he was transgender/ Why did the major US networks choose to withhold that information?
Everyday I scan 7 different major news media including RT. I hear groundnews.com is refreshingly candid and well researched but not in my budget. The truth is somewhere between those seven accounts. None have a monopoly on truth or lies.
