Kirchner lost the federal appeal but has one more chance by going to the Argentine Supreme Court. There is no assurance that she will prevail there, though the proceedings may take some time, possibly years. Not much chance she will see actual time in prison if she loses again, but house arrest is a possibility. A higher court confirmation of the sentence would keep her from any future public office and possibly any active role in politics.
Maybe Bachelet will get the same comeuppance one of these years, she certainly deserves it.
