Boric, Israel, US response

Much speculation at this point but some of the predictions seem reasonable.

Boric has been increasing the cutting of ties between Chile and Israel, and the recent “Cuenta pública” speech seemed to suggest that is going to deepen. Some have even suggested that Boric might direct the breaking of diplomatic and trade ties with Israel after the removal of Chile’s military attaches from that country.

Naturally, the pro-Israel Trump government hasn’t ignored this tendency. There is even talk of US sanctions over what has already transpired, including the threat of revisiting the visa waiver privilege.

Some of that speculation is coming out of one of Chile’s defense think-tanks, AthenaLab. That group has catalogued some of the ways that Chile’s internal security depends upon Israeli technology. But that translates into the means by which agencies such as PDI have been able to gather damning intelligence and evidence related to the many crimes of the Boric bloc and other Leftist coalition elements. So while publicly Boric may be whimpering about Israeli military actions in Gaza, his attempts to keep Israeli crime-fighting tools out of Chile suggest a far more sinister aspect.
