I guess a positive for those who fear a future digital social credit system in Chile. :grinning:

“Los funcionarios del Servicio Nacional de Migraciones informaron la caída de la principal base de datos del área: el Sistema B3000, un archivo que contiene la “hoja de vida” de todas las personas extranjeras residentes en Chile desde 1993, información que permite la emisión de visas o decretar expulsiones, entre otros procedimientos”, indica el reportaje de Ciper Chile.

En la base de datos de Migraciones figuran antecedentes penales, cambios de residencia, solicitudes y consultas que el Estado ha realizado a los ciudadanos migrantes. Todo lo anterior desapareció del sistema y los respaldos no se recuperaron.

Los que sí se rescataron fueron los datos del 11 de agosto al 25 de octubre de 2021. En esas 11 semanas incluso debieron copiar a mano los documentos en papel pertenecientes a otras entidades como la PDI y el Poder Judicial.

Maybe this is why extranjería have been ignoring my repeated requests for the last four months…they lost the information. Pathetic

Would be good to find current info on this topic as the media never followed up on the impacts of this.

Exactly why it would be good to get an update.

I will finally after 4 years visit the States. Longest stretch of not visiting in my 20+ years in Chile.

I did a bit of searching and didn’t find anything newer than March 2022. I wonder what happened with all that.
