After years of voting pretty far from the house, I was pleasantly surprised when I checked my voting location. A school that opened up across the main road is now a polling station, and I am assigned there. It’s about a 10-minute walk. My husband is still in Alto Jahuel, a bit up the road, but it’s still better than other places we’ve been assigned to. How about others?
I also wasn’t selected as a poll worker, at least in the first list. There is still the possibility of being chosen when the replacement list comes out.
(Writing this from blue State Commiefornia) We are at the same place in the cuico school next door to the condo with different mesas of course due to apellido.
But, for the first time, we may miss the vote if the government shutdown affects our ability to return in time for the vote.
Watching and so far international flights overall appear to be unaffected. Inside the States flights seem to be where all the chaos is. LA 603 left on time today and is still scheduled as on time for tomorrow and Thursday the day of our flight.
The anti-commie god said yes our 2 votes are needed. Typing this from the depto in Llolleo around the time the militares will probably take control of our voting location.
THAT was the longest line I’ve had to wait in in the 6 or so elections I’ve voted in. Two hours. I believe they reorganized the books for my table as it always seems to have light traffic but now had the longest line of all.
My voting location was pretty chaotic. It was the first time it was a polling place and the school hardly has parking, so people were parking on the street, at the gas station across the street, even on the road to the entrance of our condominio. There was tons of traffic, bikes everywhere. Just crossing the main road was a pain. There’s a Unimarc next door, but since it’s part of a strip center that’s being built out, I guess they couldn’t open the parking lot, even though only the supermarket is the only store that is operational.
Inside the halls were really narrow, and it was kind of confusing figuring out which line to stand in. There was an inner courtyard with a few tables. I think they should have put more tables out there. It was the longest line I have seen in my time voting. The wait was about 20 minutes. I think my poor husband was the only one in the condominio who had to go to Alto Jahuel to vote. There were lots of groups of neighbors walking to the entrance. When I was coming back, probably 15 people were going to vote.
