I have to report that the central feria here in Coquimbo (the “Feria de abastos Costanera Coquimbo”) is not bad at all, the salchichon de burro (described in the video above) is available here (from 4 to 6 mil), the varieties of goat cheese are many, from very fresh, to aged, and there are also some sort of “fermented” goat cheeses, the price vary from 6 to 8 mil per unit (700g - 800g), really fresh goat (7 mil/kilo) and lamb (8 mil/kilo) meat is brought here by a lady from a nearby village three times a week, and she would make cuts as you desire, the color of huevos de casa (about 9 mil per 30) is fantastic — really deep and dark, not just “yellow” but rather closer to deep orange or red, the sizes of “ordinary” eggs start from extremely small (yes, almost invisible, they cost from 4 mil per 30, to 6 or 7 mil per 30) but the color is also more than perfect, I have never seen such colors in Valpo, there are also very interesting small local apricots (I initially thought they were just green and early harvested, but in reality — they are perfect ones, and very sweet). So I would say everything here tastes a bit closer to its natural quality (like it was in the remote past) — unlike Valpo, where the food tasted mostly “empty”.

Have you relocated for the long term? I am in the process of researching going south with my next visit after the mandatory vote.
Maybe. And the best thing about this feria: selecting fruits and vegetables yourself is allowed, so here I can select cherries one by one, this is fantastic.
