Thanks for the report.
Was this an item sold and shipped by Amazon or was it sold by one of their partner sellers?
I heard a lot of people were taking advantage of their customer is near 95% ++++ always right policy as the same scams have migrated to MercadoLibre Chile with vendors reporting returned items being anything from the real item but totally used and thrashed, the old item that the customer replaced with the new product to literally a box of rocks or dog shit.
So it seems Amazon decided to become hard ass and non-trusting of the customer to the detriment of customers who have truly been wronged.
I also noticed that Ebay now has the vendor ship to an Ebay “international hub” first before shipping to the customer probably to make sure the product is as sold and to make sure paperwork and packaging are done correctly.
My 3rd party sellers (who sell used corporate laptops) – these guys are made of pure gold, they have 100% 5 stars positive feedback out of hundreds of clients, not 99% but exactly 100%, and they always do their best to help and resolve issues.
Yet, when they have to sell equipment through FBA (Amazon fulfillment centers) – here all the shit starts.

I’ve been a customer of Amazon since 1998, and yes, things are changing dramatically.

A while ago (2017), I shipped a webcam to a family member in Santiago via Amazon and was pleasantly surprised by the swift delivery—it arrived within just a week. Considering the complexities of international shipping and customs clearance, this was quite impressive. Has anyone experienced recent changes or updates with Amazon’s shipping policies to Chile? Are there improvements in delivery times or any new challenges with customs for electronics?
Last electronic order was end of April. It arrived faster than an Amazon order to my mother’s house in the USA (I think they were intentionally extending in-USA deliveries at that time to promote their $15/ month Prime program). I just returned from another trip to the Empire and ordered an Eufy camera system and they use Amazon shipping for their entire operation within and from the US. So I would say, no issues at all shipping to Chile.
